The International Turan Games Committee is founded

A new organisation has been set up to develop the sporting culture of the Turkic world and to revive forgotten Turkic sports and games.

A new organisation, the International Turan Games Committee, has been set up to develop the sporting culture of the Turkic world that has lived on from the past to the present, and to revive and develop forgotten Turkic sports and games. The news was reported by the SIA news agency (Səs İnformasiya Agentliyi) on 26 February 2018.

The founders of the Committee are Vasif Namazov, founder of the Alpagut Turan Martial Art and a researcher of Turkic martial arts; Farid Alizade, member of the Board of the World Alpagut Federation; and Azer Hasansoy, President of the Azerbaijan Association of Martial Arts Federations and Honoured Sports Figure.

According to the agency, the Honorary President of the Committee is Azer Hasansoy, the President is Farid Alizade and the First Vice-President is Vasif Namazov.
