Kara khuresh
The hand-to-hand combat of the Tuvans, named in the source beside kuresh wrestling.
About
Kara khuresh is the hand-to-hand combat of the Tuvans. Listing the kinds of psychophysical training of the peoples of Siberia, researchers who follow N. V. Abaev (1989) name three among the Tuvans: kuresh — wrestling, karakuresh — hand-to-hand combat, and the lamas' kuresh — a fighting art practised by lamas.
The sources that open give no detailed account of the techniques or rules of kara khuresh; this description rests on a single line of sources. The national wrestling of the Tuvans that lives on today is khuresh.
